The Cultural Caravan: a lively immersion experience

The Cultural Caravan enabled students to discover the richness of African traditions through educational and creative activities.

  • 🔥 Traditional storytelling: listen to stories, discuss them with the storyteller and illustrate them.
  • 🎨 Art workshop: discovering African loincloths and creating inspired designs, in connection with mathematics
  • 🥁 Djembé and dance: introduction to rhythms and exploration of culture through music

Using storytelling inspired by traditional wakes, students listened to stories that conveyed values such as respect and solidarity. They then exchanged ideas with the storyteller and illustrated the tales in class.

The art workshop immersed them in the world of African loincloths. Observing patterns and colors, they created their own designs while exploring mathematical notions such as geometric shapes and sequences.

Finally, the djembe and dance workshop introduced them to the essential role of rhythm in cultural transmission. Playing together, they understood a powerful message: unity creates harmony.

An enriching experience, combining culture, creativity and living together.
